Primary, Community & Acute Care

"I have worked with a number of consulting firms - many have been excellent, but I have found the quality of thinking, challenge and engagement that PPL has brought to be exceptional; most importantly, in supporting my teams deliver real change." Daniel Elkeles, Chief Executive, Epsom & St Helier Hospitals

Our teams work with commissioners and providers of primary, community and acute healthcare across the UK, supporting the development of high-quality and sustainable services that are built around the people they serve.

PPL is an approved NHS supplier via NHS Elis, NHS Lead Provider, SCW CSU, Nepro and ESPO Frameworks and an Associate Member of the NHS Confederation. Partnering with health and care services across the UK for more than a decade, we have worked successfully on behalf of over half of the Clinical Commissioning Groups in England, over one-third of all acute and community providers, mental health trusts, and with hundreds of local GP practices.

Our focus is on implementing new models of care at scale - supporting individuals and organisations to improve quality and outcomes through better, more person-centred care. We support these models not simply because it the kind of care we would want for ourselves and our loved ones but because we believe it is the only practical solution to the challenges our health systems face today.

This is about preventing people from having to go to hospital, by providing the support they need to stay well within their communities, whilst recognising that when people do become seriously unwell, for most, the important thing after receiving effective treatment is being able to return home as quickly and safely as possible. To achieve this,

  • we co-design solutions with the people responsible for delivering them and with the people they are designed to help.

  • we take an outcomes-based care approach, working with specialist partners including COBIC and Cordis Bright on designing, implementing and evaluating new model of care including with NHS England’s Vanguard sites.

  • we work in partnership across local and regional health economies, including with local government and public health, building on a detailed understanding of the evidence and data, and bringing the skills and capacity to enable successful change.

  • we believe strongly in a “whole-system” approach that brings people and services together in new ways and cross traditional boundaries - but we also recognise that not all projects need to result in seismic change. Sometimes you need simple, tangible interventions that deliver immediate results, and we are here to help with this too.
