Katlyn joined PPL as an Analyst in September 2018. Katlyn has previously worked for the microSME Walk With Path where she managed the design and development of a Class I medical device from a user and clinical perspective. In doing so she designed and conducted user-centred and clinical studies, built collaborative relationships and worked in a multidisciplinary team to bring the product to market. She has a good knowledge of the health technology and start-up landscape in the UK and Europe with respect to funding and regulation.
Previous to that Katlyn’s experience in academic research meant she undertook technical roles to conduct experiments, analyse findings and present results in a biomedical research setting.
As part of her Master’s programme in Public Health at Imperial College London, Katlyn has learned about UK health policy, quality improvement and health systems and services. She spent time working in Southwark Council’s public health team to conduct an analytical project on primary care prescribing patterns of dependence forming medicines. She also designed and implemented an evaluation of a holiday hunger programme based in the borough.
