Iyoni Ranasinghe

Iyoni joined PPL in 2017 after nine years in the NHS, where she worked as a frontline clinician. Iyoni has a strong background in change management with in-depth, first-hand experience of healthcare challenges, opportunities, policies and reforms.

Iyoni has worked as an NHS Trust Quality Improvement Facilitator, project managing several key reviews and changes in mental health services across South London and Kent. She is experienced in coaching, training and supporting staff in using improvement principles, as well as ensuring engagement in service redesign processes.

Since joining PPL, Iyoni has used her subject matter expertise to lead the development of improved mental and physical health pathway integration, including with Surrey Heartlands.  Iyoni led a pan-London Quality Improvement workstream with the Regional Medical Director as part of developing a regional architecture to support improvement and transformation in London, using her in-depth quality improvement expertise. This involved leading the engagement of key leaders across the London healthcare system and the development of a regional quality improvement approach.

Iyoni has supported the implementation of integration programmes to improve hospital discharge in West London, the development of integrated services in Epsom, and led the national engagement of healthcare professionals to ascertain the mental health crisis workforce needs and develop recommendations for a national training package.  Iyoni has also supported Integrated Care Partnership development across Surrey Heartlands, involving the mobilisation of a rapid improvement programme and leading on developing capability across all partners.

Iyoni was selected for the prestigious NiHR/BRC Clinical Research Fellowship and has published research in healthcare journals, as well as being elected an NHS Trust Governor and selected to represent the NHS internationally as an Ambassador.

She holds a Masters in Clinical Research from King’s College London, and two BSc(Hons) in Biomedical Sciences and Mental Health Nursing from the University of Durham and King’s College London respectively. Iyoni is a PRINCE2 Practitioner, EMCC Foundation Level Coaching Skills qualified and an IHI Improvement Advisor.
