Emily joined PPL as an Analyst in May 2016. She came directly from the public sector, having completed the Local Government Association’s National Graduate Development Programme in the London Borough of Enfield. The scheme gave her chance to work directly with senior management and local politicians, and to present reports at multi-agency board meetings.
While placed with the Public Health team, she led a project to help residents with mental health issues gain employment. In Children’s Services, she researched the nature and extent of peer-on-peer child sexual exploitation, and evaluated alternative funding models for the borough’s youth service.
Prior to her role in the local authority, Emily worked in publishing, where she polished her writing and editing skills. She enjoys volunteering in frontline roles and currently mentors a local child with social care needs.
Emily holds a BA (Hons.) English and Spanish from the University of Oxford.
